Believe me this person deserves it - I pay my taxes, so does ever other decent person. So why should I subsidise THEIR lifestyle with MY money? Would YOU throw your money at a criminal and tell them to go and have a good time? |

If tax evasion is going on wholesale then this person is one of thousands who simply push up our tax bill every year.

to those people who think that tax evaders don't push up the tax bill for the rest of us - WRONG!
With the huge shortfall in the public purse at the moment the govt are screwing us all with the removal of the 10p tax band. This is made all the more necessary by tax evaders. If they all paid their taxes then there would be less pressure on the public purse and less pressure on the taxpayer as a result.
I'm not talking about the occasional cash job here and there. I'm talking about systematic evasion, where a large part of a person's income is not declared. That is a result of pure greed. |

call the tax office, i know exactly what you mean i am a mother of three small children and a wife, i could well easily have stayed at home on my butt and claimed everything that i should not have been entitiled to, but i choose to work full time. i think people who evade the system making our tax rise should not get away with it. good luck.x |

I have paid every penny I have ever owed as Income tax and like you they those who don't irritate me.
Just a minute if someone was doing a job in your house and said, "if you pay me cash we can forget the VAT."
You would of course tell him you wanted a proper bill and would pay by cheque or credit card.

Telephone a tax office, and ask to be referred to the Compliance Team. You don't have to give a name. Don't write an anonymous letter, they aren't usually taken too seriously.
Tax office staff would agree with you. When someone doesn't pay their correct share of tax, it means honest taxpayers have to pay more to make up for it. |
