How to earn six figures, and not pay federal tax?

Have a seven-figure net operating loss from a previous year? Most of the other deductions you may have, other than business losses, cannot offset all of your income.

ribeiroworld
Only keep the amount of money you can offset with allowed deductions.... Plus the amount you are allowed to put every year into an IRA. By deductions, I mean business deductions, charitable contributions (up to a point which is allowed), and if you have a business, you can reinvest some into your business.

Given that, I'd rather pay the tax and keep the money.

The responder who says that income over $100K is tax free doesn't know what he's talking about, so ignore him.

Deductions... find a tax deduction for everything you can think of, it takes off the amount of taxes you have to pay and if you get enough you won't have to pay any. Thats why so many big companies donate to charity, its one of the bigger deductions you can claim.

Forget deductions. You are interested in keeping your money, not over-spending it on legitimate expenses like dental care and property tax just so Uncle Sam doesn't get it all.

What you need to know is that the current tax code limits income tax up to $100,000, so when you make more than that you keep the rest. What you need to do is become extremely good at what you do. There are wealthy people in every industry from Wall Street to the public school system. If you are the best you will be rewarded.

And the better you are the more you will make. People will want you to contribute to publications (Men's Health and Maxim have medical, business, law, and advice experts). That's not an accident. People want this info.
