Absolutely a SCAM.
FedEx would only e-mail you if you:
a. Have an account with them.
b. Signed up for tracking of a specific package by its tracking number.
FedEx would NEVER use a throw-away e-mail service such as live.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, etc.
On the rare occasion that fees were due on the recipient end (customs duties for example) they will place a hang-tag on your front door telling you were to pick up the package and how much is due, or they will call you on the phone and tell you to come to the local FedEx depot and pick up the package. Any fees would be collected over the counter at the FedEx depot, never via e-mail, credit card, PayPal, or Western Union.
The cops really can't do anything with it. Just delete the e-mail and move on. |

The moment you see a fee to get money that's coming to you, you know it's a scam.
You can report it to the police, if you like. This is fraud, and it goes on daily. They likely won't look into it, but they may be able to refer you to an online law enforcement group that does. |

1) FedEx owns its own domain and does not use web-based email addresses.
2) "Nigeria" - If it has anything to do with Nigeria, it is a SCAM. Period! |

Anything from Nigeria, just delete.
Don't bother the police - there are so many scams they can't keep up!
Rule of thumb - if you are not expecting it, or it sounds too good to be true - delete it. |

Anyone who offers you money that you do not know is potentially scamming you...in fact 99.9999% of the time it's a scam. Just delete it, do not reply. |

Unfortunately it's not true. And unfortunately it's not illegal. It's known as spam. Fedex I'm pretty sure does not deliver money. I would just delete the email, and anything that sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Hope this helps. |
