Yes you can .. however .. when I was made redundant last year I had a redundancy payout (wasnt a lot only 6 weeks pay) but I wasnt allowed to claim for a certain amount of time because of the money I received. They say you have to live off that first. You can stil sign on etc but wont give you any money. If you dont get any payout then you can claim from the first day you are out of work. |

Of course you are - but you'll need to go in and claim immediately after you are laid off - they won't give you what you are entitled to as a backdated claim. |

Yes you are, contact them the day after your job ends, hopefully your employer will get someone in from the Jobcentre to talk to the people being made redundant. Make sure you have the number you need to call. If you have been working for at least the last four years without a break I would recommend applying for Contributions based JSA as any savings/partner will not be taken into account. |
