I'm confused about the stimulus direct deposits---I used turbotax to do my taxes..?
I used turbotax to do my taxes but paid the fees with my debit card..does this mean i'm waiting for a check instead of a direct deposit?

Clare
If you paid your fees with a debit or credit card and didn't have them deducted from your refund, you should be getting your rebate via direct deposit.

No sweetie, you're getting a direct deposit if you had your refund direct deposited. I hope you get it soon!! Good luck!!
(cross your fingers for me too!)

How did you receive your refund?

If by check, then you will receive a check.

If by direct deposit, then you should receive and direct deposit.

La Vie Boheme
You should get your stimulus check direct deposited.

AK - I'm not completely sure. I did the same as you did and unfortunately I'm getting a paper check. Upon inquiring further, although I paid my own fees and did direct deposit, I had $3000 put in my savings and the remainder put into my checking. Because of this, they're sending me a paper check.

Turbotax is very iffy. As long as your income tax was paid by debit into ONE ACCOUNT, you should be fine.

I did the same thing as you and I am getting a direct deposit instead of a check. Call (800) 829-1040 to find out when you will receive your payment. It's all automated. You will give your ss #, filing status and # of exemptions from your '07 return.

Yes, unless you selected the option for direct deposit which is given as an option with turbo tax.

i did the same thing, and guess what, you have to wait for a check in the mail. what i was told is that the direct deposit money is actually a loan made by a third party bank of some sort, so technically you didn't actually get the money you got right away from the irs. it was a loan from this said bank. so we get to wait and anxiously check our mail everyday.

Probably, since they won't have your latest banking details. They said they'd use the 2007 details.

Loving mother
Below are the schedules for economic stimulus payments related to tax returns processed by April 15, 2008:

Direct Deposit Payments

If the last two digits of your Social Security number are:
Your economic stimulus payment deposit should be transmitted to your bank account by:

00 – 20
May 2

21 – 75
May 9

76 – 99
May 16

Paper Check

If the last two digits of your Social Security number are:
Your check should be in the mail by:

00 – 09
May 16

10 – 18
May 23

19 – 25
May 30

26 – 38
June 6

39 – 51
June 13

52 – 63
June 20

64 – 75
June 27

76 – 87
July 4

88 – 99
July 11

Some taxpayers may receive smaller economic stimulus payments than they anticipated. By law, the stimulus payments are offset to satisfy past-due taxes, student loans, child support and certain other debts.
