well here it is June 16,2008 and My extra tax check hasn't come yet! Everyone else I know has recieved theirs, not me.I've gone to the page to find out when I'll get it but all it tells me is the dates of when they would be sent.Anyone know what I should do next? My fiance & I haven't yet received ours either. When I go to the IRS page it just says they cannot provide any information and to go by the mail out date according to my social security number. We are both supposed to have ours mailed out by July 4th. Sucks big time. We filed with H&R Block (with was a HUGE mistake) and since we had our fees taken out of our return, even though we had our return direct deposited, have to wait on a MAILED out check. It's dumb..I don't get the government but all you can do is wait. They don't care about who hasn't yet received them...I called the IRS and the lady was super rude. All you can do is wait...it'll be there someday :( |

Without knowing the last 2 digits of your ss#, and when and how you filed, no way to answer - yours might just not be due yet, assuming you are eligible.
If it's any consolation, lots of other people, around 1/3 of the total eligible people, don't have theirs yet. I don't for example, but mine isn't due until July.

If you efiled very close to the 4/15 deadline, or filed by mail within a few weeks before that date, your return probably wasn't processed by the 4/15 cutoff to be in the first round, so you'll get it after the 1st round finishes in mid July |

Only 50-60% of the checks have been issued so far.
If you filed on 4/15 (which means your tax return couldn't have been processed by 4/15), give this until late July before getting truly worried. |

are you sure you qualify, did you use the Stimulus Payment Calculator (have a copy of your tax return) answer all the question and then it will give you the amount you qualify for and the date to expect the payment.
IT also has to do with when you filed and how you are requesting the refund (direct deposit or check)

I feel bad that you are still waiting for your check - however; the only advice that anyone can give you is to be patient. The checks are continuing to go out to accounts and homes until the middle of July. That is still a month away. There are several reasons why your check has to be mailed rather then directly deposited into your bank account. I have a buddy that did his taxes the exact same way I did mine, on the exact same day. I got my check over a month ago, he still has not gotten his. The funny thing is, is that my ssn (last four digits) are higher then his are. It just depends on so many things, which is why patience is necessary in this situation. I do feel bad for you though. It sucks to wait for money - cause even though it is free, it is almost like we are expecting it so we need it. Strange life we live it. Paying way too much taxes, but getting free money from our government. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Good luck my friend. |
