I've been moving a lot in 2006, (NV,NY,CO) transfering for different starbucks. What do I do about taxes?
I don't think I have any payment records. Can I call the starbucks to get that info? I really know nothing about taxes.
Thanks

Have a consult with an accountant or financial advisor

As long as you have given Starbucka a forwarding address, you should get W-2's in the mail. Since it is the same company, I'm not sure if you will get just one or one from each. You should go to the last Starbucks that you worked @ and see if they have your W-2 there. Usually companies have until Jan. 31 to get them out to employees. You should have recieved yours by now. If you get a hold of the HR dept of the entire company, they can usually reprint and send another one out to you. Then you can bring your paperwork to a tax place and have them do them or do them yourself online. Good Luck!

I would definitely contact the main office and get all your W-2's for all work..

Do you keep your pay stubs? This will help you construct the income that you make. Are you and employee of Starbucks, or an outside contractor?

Ask the company for help, they will have some records.

A CPA who is your advocate, in conjunction with Starbucks payroll department, can help you sort this out. Trust me, though, its gonna be a mess. I work in the Tax Department of a mid-sized company and our Executives that travel have the same issue

You need a CPA. More and more states take the position that a business person who spends any time in that state on business for any part of the year, technically earned income there and owes taxes on that income. A CPA who is your advocate, in conjunction with Starbucks payroll department, can help you sort this out. Trust me, though, its gonna be a mess. I work in the Tax Department of a mid-sized company and our Executives that travel have the same issues.

I'm not sure what their policy on taxes is, but this is what I would do:

Call the last Starbucks that you worked for, and ask to speak to a manager (or Payroll Department if they have one). Explain what's going on and ask if and when they will mail your W-2 Forms.

Most companies will mail your W-2 Forms at the end of the year, so by making a few calls to each location you worked at and making sure that they have your current address, you should receive everything that you need to file taxes.

I also suggest that you keep all of your paycheck stubs so that you have some kind of a record for next year.
