Do you live in the UK? Have you ever visited the UK? What lottery requires your email address when you sign up? What lottery is required/would want to notify winners? The email is most definitely a scam. By verifying, you tell the hacker (in this case, a phisher) that they have found a valid email address. You'll probably need to fill out some personal information to "claim" your prize, or be required to send money to "secure" your prize. That's mistake number two, giving more information to the phisher. Delete the email, or report it to your account manager (AOL, Yahoo, etc.) as spam, if you can. |

Don't get to excited, I've gotten several emails of that type. It's a scam. If you respond, they'll tell you that you need to pay some sort of fee in order to enable them to send you "your winnings". Uh-huh. |

It's a scam-block them from sending you e-mail. Unfortunately, I've found that they send it from different domains and stuff, so they always kept coming to my e-mail box. Just the other day, on this judge/court show...this lady was being sued because she burrowed money from a friend....to pay these same people...1,980.00 bucks she was told she had to send to someone-an 'agent', for whatever reason..but she was told she won 75,000 dollars and had the letter's to prove it and all that jazz...
Don't be a sucker like she was...she sent off that money that she burrowed from a friend...and lost a friendship even.... |

This is like many other types of unsolicited emails which are making the rounds and telling you that you have won money and in the end you will end up spending money to get your winnings - the only catch - there are no winnings only you spending money to try and get what you think you may have "won", quite simply these are scams and the best thing to do is ignore them and after reading them (if you must) stick them in the trash can.
There is a very true expression, you get nowt for nowt in this world remember that and you will soon see through all of these scams. As a test I had one of these and reported it to the national lottery people who told me quite bluntly it was nothing to do with them and that I should put it in the trash and forget it. |

Did you play because you have to play to win. You can type in UK national lottery on your address bar and it give you the website to the UK national lottery there you can check your tickets by dates that you played and it will let you know if you are a winner. If you just got notification and did not play then you are crazy for opening the email in the first place. You can not win a lottery if you do not play it. Good Luck and I hope you did............... |
