Uhhhh, oh. You should have waited till you got both of them. I would contact an accountant with what your next move is.

If you discover an error after your return has been mailed, you may need to amend your return. The service center may correct errors in math on a return and may accept returns with certain forms or schedules left out. In these instances, do not amend your return!

However, do file an amended return if any of the following were reported incorrectly:

your filing status
your total income
your deductions or credits

Use Form 1040X (PDF), Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, to correct a previously filed Form 1040 (PDF), Form 1040A (PDF), or Form 1040EZ (PDF). If you are filing to claim an additional refund, wait until you have received your original refund (you may cash that check). To avoid penalty and interest, if you owe additional tax for a current year amended return, file Form 1040X and pay the tax by April 15 of the current year.

you should of included both W2's on your return, as income,,,,,, you only can file one return, what you need to do now is to amend the return you filed,,,,,,, if you did it using an online service,,, most often you can return to it and amend it,,,,,,, if not, contact the IRS and ask them

No problem at all. The I.R.S will forgive you if you add the second W-2 or income on your 2007 income taxes next year, by law, you have up to 3-to 7 years to file your federal income taxes but most people tried not to wait that long.

Oops. You're not supposed to file until you have everything from that year. Now that it's done, you'll have to file an amended return on a form 1040X, showing the original amounts, the corrected amounts, and the differences, and send a check for any additional tax due.

You will have to file an amended return. If you filed on your own using your own tax software, you can amend your return. If you filed using an online service, you can do the same thing. If you filed using H & R Block or anyone else, contact them, but they will probably charge you more for amending your return. You should have known you didn't have all of your W2's and waited until you did have them. In this case, you are at fault.

You should have waited for the second W2. Now you must file an amended return on Form 1040X. Most of the time this will result in a tax due when the additional income is added in since the refund you get from the return as filed is normally too large. If more tax is due, you MUST file the amended return and pay the additional tax by April 17, 2007 to avoid penalties and interest charges for late payment of tax.

File an amended return, 1040X.

You need to file a 1040X. Complete it using BOTH w-2s.

Go to the website below to get the form & instructions.

Problem is you are only supposed to file 1 return. You just put info from all of you w2s on that one return.

I am not 100% certain of this, but you probably need to file an amended return. If you don't, the IRS will come after you for your unclaimed income, taking it out of your next refund or adding it to your next payment.

cajunshack43
Again U can go to any H-R Block and they will file amend return for you.

tonymolaroni
You can go to IRS.gov or call the IRS hotline at 1-800-829-1040.
Tell them what happened and ask how to remedy the issue. They will let you know what forms you have to fill out to adjust your claimed income. From there you can print the forms you need from their website or e-file the form you need online at a site like taxslayer.com. It is really no big deal. They will help you out.
