As long as you are a student under age 24 and you do not support yourself, and you either live at home or away at school, your parents can claim you as a dependent.
You will not receive an advance on your 2008 taxes, that is, the stimulus payment. However, when you do your 2008 taxes, if you are not a dependent, you may receive up to $600 credit, since you were not eligible for it in 2007.
So in fact, two stimulus payments may be made for you, one to your parent for 2007 and one to yourself for 2008. |

No, nor will your dad. You won't because you were someone else's dependent. Your dad won't because you're over 17. Your dad should have gotten education tax credits that far outweighed the tax rebate he would have gotten on you of only $300. |

No, you aren't eligible. And even if you were NOT a dependent you'd just get $300, not the maximum of $600.
And maybe you ought to consider the support that your dad provides for you before you call him names.
If you meet the rules to be claimed as a dependent, you wouldn't be allowed to claim yourself even if he DIDN'T claim you. |

NOPE.
He supported you, so he should claim you. Very few college students are self-supporting. And he won't get rebate for you, either.
However you may get something on your 2008 return since you don't on 2007. |

No. if you are a dependent on someones return you will not get the stimulus package rebate |

No. BUT, you will get any taxes that were withheld on that 4k back. So file a return!!! |

If your parents still claim you they will get the $300 credit for you depending on what their income is.
Had you filed single, you probably would have gotten it. |
