Age probably not relevant. If you have less than (used to £15000) in the bank, and/or are in receipt certain state handouts eg, disability, income support, but there are many more, then you can possibly claim. The sole occupant can claim a 25% reduction. The term is - Council Tax. Your local council will be happy to advise . |

You may be entitled to some council tax benefit but it will depend on your income & Savings contact your local authority to claim
As you are 60 you ay be entitled to some pension credit.(again this will depend on income)...if you are then you will automatically be entitled to full council tax benefit. Contact pension services
If you really want to take further advice before contacting any of the above......the specialists in the area of those aged 50 and over are Age Concern. You just need to find their nearest charity shop to you and request an appointment with an adviser |

We don't know whether you are on benefit or what? contact your local Council tomorrow and have a word, on the surface of it, if you are working folk, without benefits, I should think you were NOT entitled to any reductions.
Good luck. |

You would be best to go and see someone at the Council. If you are on low income you could receive some reduction I think.
A lot of benefits do have to wait until the husband is 'of age' |

Do you think your money-grubbing council is going to surrender a single penny just because you're past the menopause?
Get real. |
