I am due to pay a cheque into my Lloyds TSB bank acc today (Wed). When will I be able to draw on this cheque.?
Dont forget that we loose a working day on Monday, because of the bank holiday and we have Sat and Sun too to account for.
between 3 and 5 working daysdepending on your bank, so tuesday at the earliest but more likely on thursday
Sal*UK
I'd say next Wednesday/Thursday but ask when you pay it in, just to be sure!

Tue ? you could ask them when you pay it in they are quite helpful

If it is a house cheque, you draw immediately.
Cheques drawn on your locality (town) takes 2 working days for clearing.
4 working days excluding the date you paid in your cheque is set aside for other cheques.
Banks handle their shipments themselves, they don't use courier companies because of time factor.
Commercial banks are under the guidelines of Central Bank with laws that if clearing cheques are not returned within a specific period, the cheques should be regarded as 'paid'
Nick C
Normally 4 full working days. Just a note of warning, if you have sold something and don't want to release until cheque has cleared beware as if the cheque is bounced/forged etc the bank will claim the money back. Get the bank to confirm in writing that the money is in your account before releasing any goods.

you could take it to the "Moneyshop" or somewhere like that they will cash it straight away if your strapped for cash, they take a percentage tho and you need ID.
Yummy Mummy
You shoud be able too.
If you ring them up and see if its available to draw on.
If its gone straight in from your employer you should anyway.
If you pay it in at a branch you will have to wait 3 ish days

Give it 5 working days so Thurs next week.
