If you have the time, you should probably sit down and figure out what you owe both ways, separately and jointly. When you figure out which is lower, file it that way. Good luck!

No, don't file separately, that would just cost you extra taxes total for the two of you. You can file a joint return even if only one of you had income.

You do your taxes the same way you always have, you just don't have another W-2 to add together to determine wages and neither do you have any withholding to add to your husbands. You are still the spouse and if you have kids, they are dependents and you still file married filing joint. Any deductions you have, such as medical expenses or charity you incurred, you include that on your schedule A. Just because you don't have a W-2, your tax is the same and hopefully you will get a refund. The tax needs to be postmarked by Tuesday, April 17th or you need to file and extension. Good luck on filing.

No, file married, but with only your spouse's income. Turbo tax online is great to use for this!

Well if your married you dont file sperately. If you made any kind of income, thats the amount you file, pluse any your wife did if she works.

Look in the phone book under U.S. Government for the nearest office of the Internal Revenue Service -Taxpayer Assistance Division and go there with all your paperwork in person. They will not only answer all your questions ,but file your taxes all for free. Bring Social Security cards for all members of the family and bring some ID with a photo for identification.

I don't know...but to give yourself some more time, you may want to file an extension: http://www.irs.gov/ On the left hand side of the homepage, there are commonly requested forms. #4868 is the extension form and you can print it out. If you think you owe money, you are still supposed to send that in with the extension form. However, the form buys you time, and maybe you can find someone to help you...or break down and go to H&R Block. I know they charge you, but if it's too confusing for you or your friends, they may be able to help you out.

No income, no taxes. File with what your wife has as income and you as the dependent.

bigdee_x
your husband files married and claims you as a dependent.
