You have no declarable income so no you do not file, and cannot claim anything. |

You didnt pay in so what are you expecting to get back? It is a refund of taxes. You cannot get the earned income credit. Keyword is earned. |

Claim what? You have no taxable income and didn't pay in any tax so there's no need to file.
Contrary to what one poster claims, welfare doesn't qualify for the EIC or any other refundable credits so filing would be a waste of time. |

If you did not have any earned income, you cannot claim the earned income credit.
If you did not pay in estimated taxes, you have no refund.
It seems you have zero taxable income, and a zero refund coming, if you file your taxes. |

The answers above are true. You must have earned income for both the child tax credit and the earned income credit. If you just bought a first home you could qualify for the "first time home buyers credit"--which is really just a zero interest loan. The education credits are only good if you have taxable income. If you truly did not work at all there is no reason to file. |

Not sure what you mean by "claim taxes". If you are asking can you file and get money, not if you didn't pay anything in. If you didn't work you aren't eligible for credits like EIC, child tax credit or additional child tax credit. |

how can you claim taxes if you didn't earn any income? You cannot get a tax return if you did not pay taxes. |

No, not at all. The money you got fromwelfare, you did not work for, or earn that money. It was given to you from other tax payers, so you can get on your feet, get a job and then yourself start paying taxes, which will include you paying into welfare for other mothers to get an education, and a job.. You are at the begining part of the circle, Wehn you are a receiver, you claim nothing, you didnt work.. |
