imploded should be "Employed" and payed should be "Paid". File your taxes for the back years. Ignoring it will not make it go away. If you owe money there is a form to fill out to pay later. The interest will only grow and ignoring the IRS does not make it better. The worst that happens is you owe money. If you go many years without filing and they find out you go to jail. |

imploded? you mean your body has collapsed into a peanut shell? - what kind of money did you gross in those 3 yrs - each year (1)before deducting expenses and (2) after deducting expenses? Did you show a profit of more than $400? Did you use to file a schedule C for your business or are you incorporated? |

I hope you at least have good records of your income and associated expenses for those years. Take your records to a CPA and ask them to prepare your returns - wait a couple weeks until after 4/15 - they're all really busy now.
You'll owe the IRS for taxes, plus interest and penalties. But the longer you wait, the worse it will get since the interest and penalties will continue to increase. If you can't pay all that you owe, the IRS will set up a payment plan for you. |

First, learn to spell the word EMPLOYED. Then, learn to spell PAID. And I assume that you mean you haven't FILED taxes for the last 3 years.
Since the tax deadline is a week away, see if you can pull together all of the necessary paperwork in time to file by the 15th. If not, file for an extension. Either way, I'd suggest filing a return for the 2007 tax year. The longer you go without filing, the worse things will be once it finally catches up with you. You might get lucky and no one will catch that you have a 3 year gap in your filing history. Even if you do have to go back and submit all of your paperwork for the last 3 years, don't panic. Unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars in undeclared income with no write-offs, business expenses, etc you should be able to pay off any back taxes you DO end up owing over time and it shouldn't take all that long to do it.
Your best bet tho is to contact your local H&R Block or other financial and tax service center for assistance. They can help you get your 2007 return filed as well as advise you on how to best handle any problems that arise out of the 3 year gap in your filing history. |

as said before, go see a CPA or tax guy and you will eventually be able to work off the debt. Better sooner than later before the IRS come after you |

You're self ''imploded''... I've never heard that one before. What exactly does that mean? It sounds painful.
I would start paying as much taxes as possible to avoid going to prison. |

I have a buddy that went bankrupt a couple years ago and he commented that it is true: the only two certainties are death and taxes. The reason he said that was because you cannot have your tax debt forgiven by Uncle Sam. You can spend all you want on plasma tv's, steak dinners, and Nike's and stiff them but you can't stiff Uncle Sam.
What my buddy has done is set up a payment plan with the IRS. They are actually pretty decent about it, as decent as government agents collecting a debt can be, but they will help you with the process. The fact of the matter is that they would rather have you pay than throw you in prison or have you kill yourself.
An aside: the US govt does not collect stats on how many people commit suicide as a result of their tax burden. It is something to think about.
So far, I've given you a couple ideas; a payment plan, prison, or suicide. Please do not do the latter as your life is certainly worth more than debt to our government.
But there is a fourth option, an option I would take if put in the corner you are in. I would leave the country for a non extraditing country.
In a nation that has bailed out major banking institutions that have brought certain sectors, and lives of average schlubs, to ruin, I would not feel guilty in stiffing Uncle Sam by leaving this country.
Non ethical behavior begets non ethical behavior. |
