Do them yourself. All you need to do is print out the forms (or go to your local post office and get yourself a copy) and fill them out. It's relatively easy, it takes me about one hour.
It's also something everybody should learn how to do at some point in their lives, so consider this a valuable experience. You'll be saving yourself $30 and if you decide to continue to do them yourself, you'll save even more. |

Find your local ACORN center and they will do your taxes for free. (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) I have used them and they are great!! http://www.acorn.org |

try filing for free on the irs website. look for 'freefile'. This is limited to federal taxes. http://www.irs.gov
For other low cost tax filing options see below :

If your income is below $37-39,000 you can have the IRS do your taxes or go to a VITA site. |

For simple returns, the IRS will figure your taxes for you, for free, and bill you for the amount due. TurboTax also offers a free online edition for Federal returns (they charge for doing state and local taxes, but not every state has income tax. If you live in FL, you don't file state income taxes, so the TurboTax thing is great).
Many communities also have volunteer tax help through community organizations:
"Free tax preparation is available through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs in many communities. Volunteers help prepare basic returns for taxpayers with low or limited incomes. Call 1-800-829-1040 to find the VITA or TCE site nearest you. Taxpayers may also call AARP — the largest TCE participant — at 1-888-227-7669 to find the closest Tax Aide site." |

There are several organizations that help low income tax payers prepare their taxes. You will have to look in your local paper or call a local TV station or check out their web-sites to find those organizations in your area.
You can also call the IRS at 1-800-TAX-1040 or look at www.irs.gov |

if your income is low enough, you can get it done online for free by following the links for free file on the irs.gov website here: http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html
If you live near an IRS office that has walk-in staffing, they can help you prepare your return if your income is low enough. I don't remember the limit, though. |
