I cant find my 2005 income tax, is there any way to request them from IRS?

If you need an actual copy of your return, you should complete and mail Form 4506 (PDF), Request for Copy of Tax Return along with a check or money order for $ 39.00 per tax year made payable to the "United States Treasury". Allow 60 calendar days to receive your copies.

Most needs for tax return information can be met with a tax return transcript or a tax account transcript, rather than an actual copy of the return. The tax return transcript shows information from the return as it was originally filed. A tax account transcript shows any later adjustments either the taxpayer or the IRS made after the tax return was filed. Transcripts are provided free of charge.

You can obtain a transcript by calling (800)–829–1040 or by completing and mailing Form 4506-T (PDF), Request for Transcript of Tax Return, to the address listed in the instructions to request all types of transcript verification of non-filing, and wage/income information.

Transcripts will be mailed directly to you, and should be received within two weeks after the IRS gets your request.

Yes - go to IRS.gov and there are all kinds of questions answered plus a number to get other information that may be needed.

Also, your employer may be able to get you a duplicate copy of your W2.

Contact the tax preparer/office that submitted your return. They should have a copy of it in their files.

Yes, go to www.irs.gov and there will be a number you can call 24/7 to request the year you need.

Judy's answer, which appears to be copied directly from the IRS page, is the best so far. The part I did not see in her answer is that you need to know the SSN on the return, and the address on your return to file out the request.

yes, they will fax or mail a copy of them to you, it probably won't look like the one you sent them, but it will do, all the figures are there.
I don't have their number right now, but it will be in the 2006 book that will be coming soon.

Yes. Search online for the IRS's site. You may be able to request it online now. But if not, you can request over the phone or in writing.

Yes, there is somewhere in town, start at City Hall and ask them and they will point you in the right direction.

I cannot remember the name, but that is where I started.
I had to get an older year and was able to get about 4 years worth of copies from them.
