You mean you haven't filed your taxes YET for 2007.
If your boyfriend provided for the majority of your son's expenses (lodging, food, clothing, etc.), then he can claim your son as a dependent. If this seems to be the case, then the answer is yes. Your boyfriend will receive the tax relief for your son. However, you should still file your taxes as you may qualify for a tax relief as well. |

Did you make any money during the year? You still have to declare wages on a return, and he can't claim you as a dependent, you are not married or blood relatives. |

You should file your own tax returns. Why would you get relief if you didn't pay taxes? |

You certainly won't get anything because you did not even file. I he filed climing a child eligible for the Child Tax Credit he may get $300 for your your son too, but you get nothing. |

Yes. You are better off filing yourself Head of Household and force him to file single. Unless he has actually been supporting you for the majority of this past year (at least 6 months), in which case it would be fair to allow him those two exemptions. If he's taking advantage of you, did this without consent, or has never supported you then you should be able to call the IRS for advice in this case. I'm sure they can help you figure out the best action to take (especially if he did this fraudelently). Good luck! |

Yes. If you are not married he will only get 600.00 for himself and 300.00 for your son. |
