If the check was made out to just one of you then you should receive another check. If out to both of you I believe you will only get the one. Based on your gross, however, you should have received the full amount. |

Probably got $600 for you and your wife and $300 for the child do to your tax liability |

It sounds like you didn't earn enough. You didn't pay enough in taxes. There are limits. (lower and upper) Are you sure that the amount is correct? I suppose you could always try contacting the government. Anyone can make an error. |

try using the calculator on the irs's website. For some reason (my low income I think) it told me I was only getting half of the $600 for myself. Could be that you only got $300 each for you and your wife. |

At that income level, your tax liability was less than $600....so they gave you the minimum amount of $600 + $300 for your child.
In effect, you just got all the taxes you paid back (plus more).
Those who receive the maximum ($1500 for married with one child) paid at least $1200 in tax...and generally are not receiving all of their taxes back. |

You misunderstood the variable. Its not if your gross income is over 0. its if your tax is over 0. You only qualify for $300 each for you and your wife and $300 for your child. |

This is only a federal rebate.......state is not involved.
You could use the calculator on the IRS website or call them at 800-829-0852 X462 and talk to a live person to find out details. Looks like due to the income and tax liability, you received 300.00/ea for you and your wife and 300.00 for your child. It was up to a 600.00 rebate depending on income/tax liability, etc. But I was happy to get what I did, every little bit helps! |

Because it's up to $600 for each person and $300 for each child, but you need to have a claimed income of at least $30,000 each to get the maximum.
Between $3,000 and $30,000 of claimed income it is a sliding scale, for example someone who is single and claims $21,000 can probably expect about $500. |

Probably because your total tax on your return was less than $900. You got 300 each for you, wife and child.
If your total tax was greater than 1500, you would have gotten the entire amount. |

The are two separate checks, one for state and one for federal. Make sure you don't owe anything like child support, taxes, etc because the government will take your money before you get it. |
