Just go to HR and fill out another W-4. Allowance of 1 shouldn't make that much difference though. If you have deduction (like charity donation), you may be able to get away with deduction of 2, but, you may have to pay additional tax when you file. So, be careful.

If you need more money for the week, go to your boss and ask to have your # changed from 0 to 1 but if you want to get back more at the end of the year, leave it as 0
Give Me a Break.
You got 0 allowance? Did you intend to say that you wrote 0 (zero) on your w-4 under number of allowances? As a result you were taxed too high, 29%?
Speak English, people.
If you have no dependants (just yourself), then claim 1 on your w-4.

The more allowances you have, the less tax that will be withheld. But be careful - you don't want to have too little taken out so that you end up owing money during tax time.

29% seems a bit high. I have a high income and generally get taxes about 26%.
