fallen angel | I got a paper on the mail about my stimulus refund saying that I'm getting 608 dollars!? |
I only made 17,000 and I have a child that I claimed on my taxes I don't get it, I thought I was getting 900 like everyone else! what happened? |

You got $308 and your child got $300.
The rebate payment is equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals.
If you do not receive full amount of $600 now, then you may get the balance amount when you file your 2008 return, and you become eligible for the tax rebate.
For information on stimulus tax rebate read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html |

The rebate is limited to your total tax liability. I bet that if you look at your tax return, your total tax liability was $608. |

Actually, you would get up to $600 for yourself + $300 for your child (but, only up to your tax liability). So, if you tax liability was less than $900 then, you would not get that full amount. |

You didn't make enough money. People that didn't pay in that much in taxes got a reduced amount, you probably got the $300 for the kid, and $300 for your stimulus. |

i heard something about a month or so ago that they made mistakes on some of them, i would call or check their website to find out for sure and 608 is an odd number, that does seem like it would be a mistake |

If your total tax (owed) was less than $600, ou may not get a full refund.
Their should be a letter with it explaining why it was that amount. Is there one?

If you find it was a mistake you can file an amended tax return. |
