Okay, I got this emil from THE REAL IRS and I don't know why... I'm only 13 and it says I'm eligible to receive a tax refund because of my fisical activity???? Whatever that means....
Anyways, I'm pretty sure it was the real deal because it was from irs.gov....
I guess what I'd really like to know is, why did I receive this when I do not own a house, have kids, and have a job????? Did anyone else get this email???

I used to work for the government and trust me little girl; if the government want to get in touch with you the last thing they would want to do that is by email. IRS only send their notices through paper mail. |

You didn't get an e-mail from the IRS. You got spammed by a scam artist. The IRS NEVER contacts you by e-mail.
It's child's play to spoof the from address on an e-mail. Spammers do it ALL the time! I could spoof the header on an e-mail and make it look like it came from the President or pretty much anyone else I wanted it to look like.
Do NOT respond to it! It just tells the scam artists that they've found a live e-mail address. |

This was a scam. The IRS will never contact you by email.
BTW, was the phrase "THE REAL IRS" anywhere in the email that you received? |

The IRS does not send out unsoliciated emails, you need to first off, do not respond, or send any personal identifying info, and lastly check out the link below which outlines the instructions for phishing. |

it's a scam, just delete it. The government never contacts people through email. There are also programs that allow peole to send emails and put in any adress they want as the sender. |
