as long as they were born before midnight then you can. If they were born at 12:01 then you have to wait for your 2008 taxes |

I heard about a set of twins one born at 11:58 pm and the other at 12:05 am on 12/31 and 01/01. Could only take one deduction that year. Then 2 the next year. Congrats to you. |

Since they were born in 2007, you can claim them as dependents for your 2007 taxes. |

As long as they were actually born in 2007 yes, you can. My wife and I had our oldest on Dec 30 of 1999 and we were happy to learn that we could claim him! |

Congrats on the newborns ! And yes, you ARE entitled to a full year's deduction for both, as long as the birth certificates indicate that both kids were born in calendar 2007. Go for it ! |

Congrats. Yes you would claim your twins for your 2007 taxes as long as they were born before January 1, 2008. Each child would be $3,400 each. Total: $6,800 Next year (2008) personal exemptions will be worth $3,500 each. |

Yes you can. Congratulations, and NICE timing. I have twin grandsons who just turned 2 on Dec 18 - they were nice timing too but didn't cut it quite as close as you did. |

Yes, according to pages 16 and 17 at the following link. Any child or children born in 2007 (even if at the last minute) can be claimed for the ENTIRE year! http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf CONGRATS and God Bless You :) |

Yes. "A child who was born or died during the year is treated as having lived with you all year if your home was the child's home the entire time he or she was alive during the year. The same is true if the child lived with you all year except for any required hospital stay following birth." IRS Publication 17: Your Individual Income Tax; Chapter 3: Exemptions for Dependent -- Residency Test. |

Congrats! I too have twins (a boy and girl 20+ years old), they were twice the enjoyment and twice the fun, and be prepared to be twice as tired. Have patience and lots of help. And always think in two's. If your twins were born before 11:59 p.m. on Dec 31, 2007 you can claim them on your income tax return for 2007. |

I think you get to claim them for all of 2007, but you've got to get them a SSN before you can list them on your 1040 forms. Congratulation on the twins. |

Yes. The rule is that you can deduction the number of children you had on the last day of the tax year. I makes no difference how long you had them as dependent. |

I believe so. You should consult your tax advisor but as long as they were born on December 31 you should be able to. You will need to have social security numbers for them before you file. |

Yes. As long as they were recorded as being born in 2007 you should be able to claim them. Try asking your tax person. What day/time does it say on their birth certificate? Good luck! (taxes suck) |

Yes, as long as they were actually born before midnight. Ask any tax consultant. Congratulations. Also, keep in mind that Social Securtiy numbers are not necessary until they are a little older, 5 I think. cz |

Congrats! I was never able to claim my children until they had been living in the household for twelve months but maybe the laws are just different where I'm from.. |
