I had twins on new years eve, can i claim them on my taxes?

i just had two newborns, and ive been hearing mixed things. can i really claim them on my income tax refund since they were born in 2007?...

QandA	as long as they were born before midnight then you can. If they were born at 12:01 then you have to wait for your 2008 taxes

oldwolf1951	I heard about a set of twins one born at 11:58 pm and the other at 12:05 am on 12/31 and 01/01. Could only take one deduction that year. Then 2 the next year. Congrats to you.

Ms. Angel..	Congrats! I too have twins (a boy and girl 20+ years old), they were twice the enjoyment and twice the fun, and be prepared to be twice as tired. Have patience and lots of help. And always think in two's. If your twins were born before 11:59 p.m. on Dec 31, 2007 you can claim them on your income tax return for 2007.

Ken Mc	I think you get to claim them for all of 2007, but you've got to get them a SSN before you can list them on your 1040 forms. Congratulation on the twins.

Well... Good	Congrats! I was never able to claim my children until they had been living in the household for twelve months but maybe the laws are just different where I'm from..
