x. yes it is illegal for you to drive it unless you are disabled, then you could possibly change the details. x |

 |
yes its illegal, contact the DVLA you might have to pay the back tax |
|

Ahwell
|
Yes, you should. The old owner should have kept the disabled disc to transfer to a new car or return to dvlc |
|

|
Yes you must. It's illegal to use a disabled tax unless you are one. Not worth the risk I'd say. |

I have a feeling that disabled tax means the original owner was possibly exempt from paying. Unless you are also disabled with an exemption certificate i would get a new tax disc. To be sure why not ask the dvla |

YES. Not only are you breaking the law on road tax you are also committing fraud by displaying the wrong tax disc. You will be done for fraud and although it's awkward paying the fine and getting points you will also get a criminal record. |

you will first need to get the car reclassified as at present it wont be the correct class, ie it is disabled class , could invalidate your insurance . it wont cost you any thing you can get the form from post office, then you will need to re-tax it
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/ChangesToYourRegistrationCertificate/DG_4022054
check the dvla site for more info |

Yes you will need to change the tax disc. If you are not disabled I expect you will have to pay the normal fee for a new one. |

Ex Traffic Warden.
under UK law if you are not the holder of a disabled badge you cannot apply for exemption from payment of road tax.
these are issued on a person to person basis and cannot be transferred as they usually mean that no levy(tax) had been pain by the holder. if you are a blue badge holder you can apply for a disc in your own name which will be issued afresh via the post office. if you are not a badge holder you will need to re-tax as per UK rules. having a disabled tax disc will not save you from being issued to by a warden as it needs to be displayed in conjunction with a valid blue badge and clock in the UK. but no clock is needed in Scotland. |
