Make contact with your local Council - and ask them to send you appropriate form for claiming Housing Benefit and Council Tax benefit

File a temporary disability claim. If it was work related sue your job. Try to google this and see what happens.

Look at the C.A.B website.
If it doesn't exactly answer you question, email them.
Better still if you have a CAB near to you, go and have a word with them. They have all the information and it is up to date.

Yes, claim both Housing Benefit AND Council Tax Benefit. You get the forms from your local Councils Housing Department (or Finance Dept.).

You can also trawl through the ridiculously huge and complex government website:

http://www.dwp.gov.uk

and try doing a search - but be prepared to work hard to try and find what you need.

Alternatively, seek advice from a local advice agency such as a Citizens Advice Bureau - see 'phone book.
