You still should go ahead and file before 4-15 because after 3 years you forfit any refund. From experience. Jennifer |

Yes you can, and should to avoid future problems if you made enough in those years to be required to file.
You will only get refunds back to tax year 2003, though - anything farther back is lost. And the deadline for filing to still get your 2003 refund is 4/15/07. |

Yes. Just download the forms for the years in question at the IRS website and go for it. You have 3 years from the filing deadline to claim any refund due. After that, the refund is lost forever. The drop-dead date for 2003 is rapidly approaching (paril 17, 2007) so don't delay if 2003 is one of the missing years.
There is no penalty for late filing as long as you do not owe any tax, at least on your Federal return. Some states do assess a penalty for late filing even when a refund is due. OH is a good example; they assess a flat $500 penalty for late filing and deduct it from any refund you have due and will bill you for the difference if you don't have enough of a refund coming. |

I would file to be on the safe side and to get any refunds due to you. I would think at this point it would be best and safest to have a professional do them for you like H & R Block. If you go to buy a home and whatever you need a few years worth of tax returns. |

Sure you can. As long as you still have all your paperwork from those years.
It might be worth going to a tax consultant. Not certain if you would use tax forms for those years, or just 1040X forms. |
