You are self employed and need to register with HMRC as soon as possible - www.hmrc.gov.uk. You need to keep accurate records of your income and expenditure so that you can produce accounts each year. You will need to complete a self assessment by 31 Jan after the end of each tax year and pay the tax due then and on 31 July.
If you are unfamilair with the Uk tax system I strongly advise you to go and see an accountant as there are lenalties for getting your tax wrong.
