Yes..your name will be dragged into court also, because he probably uses you as a dependant, since you don't work and/or checks the "marriage" box for extra deduction.
You probably don't want to hear this, but you will also be liable for any back taxes and late fees associated with his lack of filing taxes, which by the way is a crime, and you will probably need a lawyer to keep you out of jail.
Not a good thing ,not to file taxes..and you say you are married to this guy..so you guys don't talk at all..like"honey did you mail the taxes out "..jeeezz...
communication..communication...where did it go..

You need to call the IRS quickly!

1-800-TAX- FORM.

Your so-called-husband is jeopardizing what little financial stability you have and may be setting you up for a financial catastrophe.

Did you have any income yourself? If not, maybe not. But if you did, you're as guilty as he is for not filing! And if you live in a community property state there's probably no way out even if you didn't have any income.

I'd be talking to a CPA or tax attorney AND a divorce lawyer right about now.

Oh yes... you both are jointly liable. You don't say how long its been since he filed taxes, but I would assume that it could have been a while. Don't know what kind of records you or he kept, but you need to go back and get tax forms filed. If it has been a long time, or even a couple years. you may want to contact the IRS and ask for their help. But be prepared, you will have to pay not only taxes but some pretty healty interest and penalties. as well.

Not unless you file jointly with him when he does file.

Yes, you are liable for paying the taxes, penalties, and fines. Not filing your taxes is illegal, and you could also go to jail.

Ignorance is not an excuse that works with the IRS. How could you not know that you were not filing your taxes? How many years has this been going on? You had to know that you, personally, were not signing your taxes. So how could they have possibly been filed without your signature?

When you are married you are responsible for this. Not to change the subject but when my dad got divorced from his ex- wife they took her new husbands tax checks for back payments.

You ask, I answer
if you are married, yes. finances combine when you get married.
