NONE. The interest rates are going to amaze you. They are on the rise. Living off of cash only is the best decision. You can build credit in other ways that are more constructive! |

You don't need a credit card. If you want to establish credit, apply for one. Then, when you get it CUT IT UP!! I am serious...if it's in your wallet, you are tempted to spend, spend, spend. I have almost $9,000 in credit card debt to show for it! |

Well, Im 18 and i just got my first credit card today. Since i have no credit, i opened up a bank account and they give students the option of getting a credit card with only $600 . I guess thats not that bad for my first credit card, but what i'm saying is that you should try getting one through the bank first. Get alot of advice before getting one. Luck with that. |

I advise you not to get any unless you got plenty of money and are just trying to get some credit started! |

Here's a link which lets you compare all the rates and fees between the differrent company. You can find one which will suit you best. |

Cibank, Chase or American Express.
Just make sure there is no annual fee.
Look for one with cash back or reward points but again make sure no annual fee. |

It doesn't matter. At your age try to build your credit and use it for small purchases and pay off your balance the next month.
Your interest may be high at first, but after a year you can call the credit card company and negotiate a lower APR to about 10-14%.
Good Luck.
Capital One is a good card. Visa and Mastercard don't make a difference on your credit. |

This can get tricky, always turn over any offers you get and look at all the fine print. many cards have ridiculous interest rates, late fees, annual fees and other stipulations. know all the info before you sign on the doted line. |

Any credit card that you can afford to pay off monthly. One with a low interest rate is important in case you get into a bind. |

None. When I was 18 i joined with ANZ first national. (australian) they suck you in with a 55 day no interest fee of on 6% then after that six month period is up you get hit with a 17 % interest rate. Credit Cards are good if you have the money in your bank to pay the credit card off straight away. but unfortunately people like myself say i will pay it back but get lazy and dont. now i have a credit card bill of 3 grand and have to pay a minimal of 66 dollars a month otherwise i will get a 44 dollar late fee plus another 20 late fee. but anyway my point is if you do decide to get a credit card make sure you read the fine print on how much interest you will pay and make sure you pay it off as soon as possible. I hear Virgin is a good card. |

mbna gives anyone a credit card. i put that i didn't have a job and they gave me one. no wonder they never got paid. be careful. pay it off each month. keep your credit good because if you don't it can cost you dearly later in life. i'm regretting it now. my suggestion is to not even get one. |
