heyjessiesimon | I made $32,000 in 2008. I am set as single with no dependents on my W-2. How much of a refund will I get? |
I got married in January 31,2008. My wife made $200 this year? We don't have a house payment, school bills or kids. We plan on filing as married couple since she is my dependent. Any thoughts |

We do not know how much withholding you are doing.
You should check out this federal income withholding calculator on the IRS's website. It will estimate around how much your taxes will be in total, how much withholding you will have in 2008, and tells you what to expect in terms of rebate/tax owed.

She isn't your dependent, she's your wife. A spouse is not a dependent, but you can file a joint return.
Your tax will be somewhere around $1430. Whatever more you have withheld for federal income tax will be refunded to you. If your W-4 is set at single, zero allowances, your refund will probably be a little over $1000. |

Depends on how much withholding you had on your last pay stub. Also depends on whether you are currently employed with that same employer. you can calculate your refund by using the withholding calculator on www.irs.gov. |

You have to wait until the end of the year to get your W-2. File your taxes in January and you'll find out. Also, you failed to mention how much you actually paid in taxes. |

You don't give enough information to determine if you are going to get a refund. However, I think its safe to say that you will get a refund since your taxable income will be about $15,000. |

We cannot answer that as we do not know how much you actually paid. She is not a dependent she is a spouse. You file jointly. You each get an exemption. |

Single and 1 allowance on W-4 Federal W/H 3494.92
Income $32,200
Standard
Deduction $10,900
Exemptions$ 7,000
Taxable $14,300
Tax $ 1,744
Federal W/H ($3494.92)
Refund ($1750.42)
Hope this helps. Check your lst pay stub for your Federal W/H amount
YTD this also assumes you had a gross pay each week of $615.38

For married filing jointly status, with no dependents, wages income of $32,200 without itemized deduction (that you with standard deduction)
the SS tax at 6.2% is $1996.4
Medicare at 1.45% is $466.90
Federal income tax is $1430
Then there will be state income tax and may state disability insurance of around 0.5%. |

Ms. Angel..

can not give you an answer because we don't know how much taxes you had withheld. Too much information missing.
Be patient you will find out when you receive your w2 from your employer. |
