Did you have taxes withheld from that money? If so, you need to file to get a refund!! |

if you have withholding and are due a refund, FILE. That's the only way to get YOUR money back. |

The answer to this question depends on a number of things. Are you married? Does someone else claim you as a dependent? What is the source of the income (wages, interest, dividends, sales of investments, self-employment)? Was there tax withheld from the income?
There's a very good flowchart near the front of the instruction book for the IRS Form 1040 (personal tax return). You can find it on their website, www.irs.gov, under "Forms and Publications", "2006 Form 1040 Instructions". |

Not for federal unless some of it was for self-employment. If it was all on a W-2, you don't have to file. But if anything was withheld for federal income taxes, you should file to get it refunded to you - if you don't file you won't get it back.
Depending on where you live, you might have to file for state taxes. |

You are not required to file, however you may choose to do so if you had federal or state income taxes withheld from your pay.
In general, individuals who make up to approximately $7000 do not have to file (about $13,000 for married filing joint) as they will be subject to no income taxes (for federal purposes). However, if they had income taxes withheld, the only way to claim them as a refund is to file a tax return. |

Yes, even though you did not make a lot. What you did make federal, state, and other things were taken out. Which means you may be able to get money back. Turbo Tax online can help you and spells it out. |
