I made around $2,000+ working, could I file for taxes?
I worked since August 2008 and I generated $2,000+ and I was wondering if I could file for taxes.

Also I worked from 06-07 at a company and I can't remember what my gross was but I was wondering if I could file those taxes as well.

Thanks

If you had any taxes withheld for federal income tax you should file and get a refund. You did not make enough to owe taxes to the IRS.

You can always file a tax return, but is only worth if if they took out taxes.

You must file if your self employment income is $400 or more.

Read 2008 filing requirements for most taxpayers http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/10/2008-filing-requirements-for-most.html

You probably had about $200 withheld by the federal government and possibly some from the state you live in. The standard deduction is $8300 or so, meaning that you don't get taxed on all your income below that amount. If you file your taxes, you will get around $200 back from the federal government, and presumably most of what you paid to your state.

It's free money lady, go for it.

As for your previous years, you need your W-2, and can't file a previous year after filing a following year. For instance, you can't file your 08 return then your 06 return.

@ the comment above mine, you can't get EIC if you are a dependent.

yes. you should be able to get back almost all of the income tax you paid in. you can still file the old ones, though the IRS may take a small percentage off your refund for being so late. you do need the W2's for 2006 and 2007 though.

Friday's
Legally speaking you are supposed to

You can't file the 06-07.

You can file the 08 coz you made more than $500. Good luck!
