Go to walmart, they only charge like $3.00 as long as you have proper identification they will cash it.

Call your local walmart first to be sure they participate.

Wal-Mart charges up to $3 maximum to cash government checks, no matter what the size is.

What Andrew said. Walmart has been advertising that they will cash checks for $3. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Most banks will cash it for a small fee depending on how much the check is for. If the banks will not cash it, go and open either a savings or checking, deposit the check and when it clears take the money out of the account and close it. Also some places will cash it for free. I know Shaws did last year for me

I'm not sure how far ShopRite supermarkets go, but I know you can add check cashing to you super card. I know ya hate having those things hanging from your key ring, but that is one of the better benifits, and you can only cash checks with a supercard that is in your own name. Check with you local supermarkets, they may do the same. I'm pretty sure they will do it as a free cashing system. If not, you could always take the check to the bank it was drawn from and they cash it for now fee to you. I don't think that will work with income tax refunds, I'm not sure where those checks are drawn from. Hope I helped a bit, cheers!
