I only made $ 1,500 dollars at my work at home job. Do I have to claim this because the amount is so low? ?

Additional Details
I should have added that I am going to receive a W-2 and that I am not self employed

sumbumblebee
The only way you wouldn't have to claim it is if you receive a W-2 for that amount. If you don't, then it's self-employment earnings over $400, and you have to file. Mostly for the SE taxes, which you'll have to pay, since they weren't being paid by your employer and being taken out of your paycheck.

Sorry. :0(

Work at home = self-employed and the filing requirement for self-employed peoples is $400, far less than what you made.

YEP. Because you are self-employed and made more than $400, you are REQUIRED to file a tax return.
If you receive a W-2, then the answer is NO.

Yes, this is self employed income and you MUST file tax return if your self employed income is $400 or more. You will report your income and expenses on schedule C or C-EZ (Form 1040). This income is subject to SE tax at 15.3%. Read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/04/tax-filing-by-self-employed-sole.html

i think its anything over $500 you have to claim so yes

Master
Yes you must report all amount of income regardless of amount.

If you had no other income from any other source you will owe $212.00 of Self Employment Tax on that $1,500.00 of net profit.

Do you feel patriotic now?

i think you have to claim anything over $599.99
