As everybody has already said, it is an obvious scam - called a "phishing attempt" - they are trying to get some personal info from you so don't reply.
The IRS ALWAYS makes first contact with taxpayers through the US Mail - never phone or email. If they do phone or email, it is only rarely and always in response to you contacting them first.
I hope you will take the time to rat out these scammers by forwarding the email to the IRS at phishing@irs.gov . If they get enough complaints about the same jerks, they try to trace them down. |

Definitely a scam. The IRS notifies people by letter, not by email. |

This is a scam, the IRS will NEVER contact you by email.
Forward the email to the IRS at phishing@irs.gov. |

This is an obvious scam. If you filed your taxes, you will AUTOMATICALLY get the tax rebate. The Internal Revenue Service will never contact you by email. |

Yes it is a scam. If the IRS wanted to get in touch with you they would do so through the mail with official seals proving there the IRS. That kind of scam is highly illegal and you can turn them over to IRS internet crimes division and they would take care of the rest. |

Sounds like a scam. I have never heard of the IRS sending e-mails. Besides how would they obtain your e-mail address, it isn't asked for your tax forms. |
