im under the impresion that you do only pay ten moths of the year. then it goes up every year higher than inflation, then they cut services like bin collections.
then when you call the police to complain your neighbor has assaulted you they dont investigate properly due to lack of recources. mmmmm.
i love this rip off country. |

The amount is due on 6th April, but you can pay in in 10 installments. The council should not be taking a payment on Feb and March, so remember to check your bank statements. |

You're right. 10 monthly payments. But does a direct debit deal mean that you have 12 installments rather than 10. |

Depends where you are. You need to check that lovely assessment notice they sent to you, it'll say when the payments are due. It's USUALLY 10 payments, mainly so the council can rule off its books for the financial year, but just sometimes it's 12 payments. You could always ring your council & ask 'em. |

sometimes it can take a while to set up a direct debit and if you miss your first payments, they will either, up the amount for nine months, or to lower the payment spread it over the ten or eleven. Usually they ask you how you want it to be spread. Although, with there new automated service its a miracle if you can speak to anyone. |

Somebody needs a rocket shoving where it hurts - but remember that the last 'month' is January, so only complain if they've taken it out in February FOR THAT MONTH and it's not just the Jan payment showing on your Feb bank statement ! ! ! |

Regards to Stumpy the reason is that in this country we do not pay nearly enough Council tax so as to ensure that services are provided.
Most councils - for instance - only give care to older people in critical need. Devon County has cut millions from "fire cover".
Is that really what we want? |
