LOL!!! Your bro took it out. Just kidding. You cannot have a tax refund deposited into any account that does not have your name on it. They will send you a check instead. |

The may have not allowed the deposit because your name differs from the one the account, this has happened before with all of the fraud out there nowdays they are very careful about this, are you sure that your brother has not gotten it? |

If the IRS garnishes your tax refund it will take 6-12 weeks for them to process it, then pay the people, then refund what's left after they make sure you owe nothing else. Trust me, they did it to me years ago. I suggest call the IRS and talk to a real person cus the phone system is a joke when you owe money, plus it doesn't matter what bank it goes to, it's the social security numbers on the tax papers that they care about. hope it help's. |

go to the bank and ask for a statement over the counter to show whats been payed in and going out within the last week or so.
if it hasnt gone in, phone the irs up again and tell them that you have checked your bank and it hasnt gone in. tell them you can send a copy of your statement to show them that it hasnt.
are you certain that the irs didnt mean that they were going to top up your council tax account so you dont have to pay again next year?? ask them to be clear about where the money will be going in |

If the name on the deposit does not match the name on the account the bank will not deposit it. |

You need to call the bank. If your name is not on your brother's account, the bank could have rejected the deposit. |

If the IRS is not the ones garnishing your pay, then no one would be able to take money out of your bank account. Check with IRS again, you need to know why the money is not in the account. |

Double check the account number that was used on your tax return. I'd look at the actual document or printout that was used and make sure that it's the correct one. Also, make sure the correct bank routing number was used. Generally, that kind of transfer should show up with little or no delay.
It is possible that they could have garnished your return but when you called the IRS they should have told you that. |

it could be a couple of things.
your bank may be delaying it.
it was intercepted by the company you owe money to. (you should have receive a notice prior to them doing that)
you gave the wrong account info.
go to http://www.IRS.gov/ and click the "Where's my refund?" link. |

Some banks are slow to post that kind of deposit. |

Zandelia is Absolutely Correct.. Except for the fact that you have to call the IRS, and let them know what happend, as far as they know, it was deposited in the account. Just call the IRS, tell them you gave your Brothers Bank Info, and they will send you a check, I did that with my daughters Bank Account, but what we did, was run to the bank, and add me on her account. I told the IRS what had happend, they resent it, and I collected my Refund. Good Luck!!! |
