VIOLATION KING | INCOME TAX to be abolished ... To stop CHEATS? |
Or at least it should be . and put the lost revenue on FOOD.
That way you could not "CHEAT" the system.
You would only have to add 1 penny to every food item sold to recoup the differance.
And everyone would have to pay.
Don't say what about the old they would starve .... 1 penny on a tin of beans will not kill anyone.
Me for Priminister ? What do you think ??? Additional Details -------------------------------

Martin G for Prime Minister.
Income tax is disgusting. All those people who live on council estates get it cheap as chips or paid for them (not to sure)
Im sick of it. Why should upper class have to pay more than the lazy people who cant be bothered working ?
Add it onto food, thats fine with me. 1p is hardly going to hurt anyone.
I like what your thinking Martin. Keep it comming. |

Good idea but everyone will just eat less and grow their own food etc... It wouldn't give the government a steady income. |

I think the "fair-tax" as it's been called is a great idea.
It would benefit me because I would have more money to invest. You also would force illegal immigrants (A supposed problem in the US) to pay their share.
This idea is an idea championed by many conservatives who are pro-business, and anti-vice. Tax consumption products. Tax harshly the products you think are deleterious to your society. As long as the tax is low enough, there should be no effect on the economy. If I were given that choice though I would deliberately go on a diet and lose weight. Curb my expenditures so I can get ahead.
About 50% of our income goes to taxes. If it were completely under my control as in the "fair-tax" system, I could curb my spending and almost double my income! Think of that! |

Everyday's the same again...

Income tax makes up a very large percentage of the governments income, and this 'food pricing' system simply wouldnt be fair. Income tax is calculated in tax brackets based on income, so a similar system would have to be brought in for food. This means different prices for everyone depending on their income.
The cost in producing such a system would cost billions, more than the country is being cheated of. It is also getting harder to cheat the system, and many do not get away with it anymore.
Furthermore, families have to buy more items of food for their children or relatives living with them, so subsidies would have to be given to them, increasing child benefits.
For example, say you buy 50 items of food per week, thats 50p extra per week, and (50 x 52) = 2600. I'm afraid £26 per person, per year would have disastrous effects on out economy and financial structure.
One more thing, increasing foodstuffs by one penny would make penny sweets 2p and high quality caviar from £49.99 to £50, not a well thought out increase.
You for prime minister? I'll give the other candidates a chance :D |
