The same thing has happened to me. Even if they don't send you a statement, you still have to pay the monthly amount. It can take them up to 90 days to send a statement. Don't wait for that statement! If you made a payment plan with them, then they expect the money whether or not you got a statement or not. Send in your payment and be sure to write in the line on your check what year it is for.
Even though you talked to them, it doesn' t mean anything at this point. If you don't start making those payments, they can put a lien on your paycheck. None of the other stuff matters. It doesn't matter if you log your phone calls, or anything else. Just mail in your payment every month and you'll have nothing to worry about.
The IRS sucks! |

they should be keeping records of your phone calls, and if all else fails send in some money so that way they can't say that you aren't trying, and keep calling, every other day if you have to. |

Every tick of the clock, they make more money in penalties and interst. You need to call them and set an appointment, so you can address the issue, face to face. They will set a payment plan for you, that you can afford. If you dont resolve it, they can garnish your wages, and eve put you in jail. Good luck |

The IRS will not care if you have record of phone calls to them. The penalties will be the same with or without those records. Paying your tax bill is your responsibility, not theirs.
You don't need a bill from the IRS to pay them. You can walk into a local IRS office and give them a check. Or you can write a check, put your SS# and tax form and tax period in the memo field, and mail it to an IRS processing center.
Better yet, pay electronically using EFTPS.

I recommend you pay them something every month. It is possible that you can pay off your bill without having to set up an installment plan with them (they charge over $100 for that privilege). |

you will continue to accrue interest on the delinquent amount.
I would visit the local IRS office brach if they have one or call and ask to speak to a supervisor. Also contact Ronnie Dautch a tax lawyer if its over 10,000. or search internet for tax lawyers |

Make sure you are making an effort to pay anyways monthly.... Then keep calling them until you are driving them crazy and then maybe they will get the hint. |

Call them again, ask for to speak to their manager and keep pressing to resolve it. Unfortunately, the IRS isn't real lenient, even if it's a mistake they made. |

Owing the IRS is such a pain! They tend to be very disorganized about your payments and the notices they send you. Just make sure you have EVERYTHING documented. Keep everything they send you... read it carefully! If there are deadlines coming up, then call them and ask them to fax updated information to you. Take names, dates and times.
Good luck, man. |

You should call back the IRS and request a letter or statement of some sort. Probably someone crewed up and your acct wasnt notated. But call back write down the person
s ID code who your speaking with. Because next year you might have to pay for somebody's mistakes and overcharges |

Keep bugging them with calls even write a letter. Keep track of the names of every person you speak with and the date and time, if you ask for an employee number you can attempt to speak to same person. That's what I had to do to get anywhere. It took them 7 months before I received the first statement, then they tried to charge me penalties and interest. After a lot of calls and letters that was removed. You can also ask for a supervisor, they will usually get things done for you! |

Keep calling them and asking for statements. At the same time put the money aside each month to pay them with, that way when they do finally send you a statement you will have money saved to pay them with. |

regardless of whether you receive a monthly statement or not you must still payment your monthly payment by the due date. PER IRS: Not receiving your monthly statement is not an excuse to skip your payment, per the IRS agreement it states you MUST send your payment at least 5 days before the due date. Are you sure IRS has the correct mailing address? Call 1-800-829-0922 for the address where to mail your payment. Don't forget to include your SSN and tax year you are paying. |

Did you receive a confirmation letter stating that an installment agreement has been established? It usually comes about 7-14 days after you talk to them. If not, call the IRS and ask if you currently have an installment agreement in effect and when the first payment due date is. If the agreement is indeed in effect, ask for the address where to mail the payments and what to put on the check or money order.
Although you will normally get a monthly reminder notice a few days before the due date, it remains your responsibility to make payments whether you receive it or not in order to keep the agreement from defaulting.
There is one situation where you will not receive any monthly statements and that is your agreement is what the IRS terms a "manually monitored" agreement. This usually occurs if you are the secondary taxpayer on a joint return and you have separated or divorced from your spouse. |

You really need to document your calls, names, dates, get stuff in writing.
I'd fax them, this way you have proof.
Certified mail is good. Mail the payment.
The burden of proof will be on you. To be on the safe side, contact one of these lawyers or CPAs that deal with the IRS.
The CPA is better, and probably cheaper. |
