No you can't, until the child is born. You can claim them in the year they're born, even if they aren't born until December 31. You'll need the baby's social security number to put on the return. |

Not until the child is born- you may be able to get away with it for awhile but when the IRS catches you there will be penalties and interest on top of what you owe. Plus you have to provide the IRS with the child's social security number. |

Not until it's born. Obviously the baby will be born in 2007, so for next year you can claim it on your 2007 return. It's not a breathing person yet, and doesn't have a social security number, so can't be claimed. |

You need the dependent's SSN to claim them as a dependent. And you need a birth certificate to get a SSN. |

No. They are not considered a dependent until they have a social security number. They cannot get a social security number without a bith certificate. They cannot get a birth certificate until they are born. |
