If no one can claim you, or no one can claim head of household, meaning that you were the major source of income in the household (you and your children fall under this umbrella) and you have at least one dependent, you can claim head of household, which will give you a bigger tax break.
Look at the IRS.GOV site you may be able to file online for free as well and it has pages that will help you determine what to file.
I claim head of household, I am also a single mother of two. |

Head of Household.
Also check to see if you qualify for EIC (Earned Income Credit). Its for parents of young children who earn less than $34K a year (or an amount close to that). |

File as Head of Household. Also claim the EIC if qualified and the childcare credit. Use Turbo Tax Online and if you make below a certain level it is free or reduced. |

You need to choose "Single" or "Unmarried", but you can still take the deduction for your child if you are the person who is mostly supporting and caring for him/her. |
