If I am on £13000 a year wages, what will my average monthly and weekly take home pay be?

I reckon that's about £200 a week...£800 a month-ish. Possibly a bit more, I was generous with the NI and tax deductions but they rip you off anyway ;-)

MyCatty
think tax & national insurance typically works out to be approx 23% so monthly would be about £830 weekly £210 - it's never as much as it seems is it!!?

go to http://www.ir35calc.co.uk/PAYE_NI_Net_Salary_Tax_Calculator.aspx

type your gross pay and your tax code (normally 522L) and it will work it out for you.

David S
Assuming you are under 65, your tax bill is claculated as follows:

Gross pay 13,000
deduct personal allowance 5,225
leaving 7,775
deduct lower rate tax @10% 2,230: tax £223
leaving standard rate tax @20% 5,545:
tax £1,109
total tax 223+1109 = £1,332 per year; £111 per month. Net pay £972.33 subject to NIC contributions.

take your hourly wage and multiply times 2080 then divide by 12, that will be your average monthly. Divide that by 4 to get weekly.

stormydays
On a normal tax code of 503L you should be clearing something in the region of £900 per calender month...

your tax will be approx. £135 and nat ins..approx £70 per calender month

weekly take home approx. £208 (which is £900 x 12 months divided by 52 weeks)

finch
You should take home about £860 a month, after tax and NI.

You'd be taking home roughly £890 after tax...
