If you file and you paid $300 or less in taxes, you get $300. If you paid more than $300 you get at least $300 up to $600 for the economic incentive rebate, depending on how much taxes you paid last year (up to $600). Yes, only adults can get these rebates, not children who are dependents on their parents' taxes. Retirees and some poor adults can get the rebates too. They are mailing them out in May, but you have to file a tax form to get them (even retirees and poor people).

If you are referring to the tax rebate payments, all you have to do is file your tax return. And you have until Apr 15th to do that.
If you are referring to the tax refund (which has nothing to do with the rebate), it can take upto 2 weeks with e-file |

Getting the rebate assumes you either pay taxes or have qualifying income. Our poster has not indicated that they are an adult (dependents don't qualify), let alone that they had $3000 of wages. |

The $ is at least 300. They aren't mailing that money until staring in May - go to the irs.gov website and see if they can answer your qeustions. you need to file your return - if you are due money back - it takes about two weeks. |

If you file your taxes, it take a few weeks to get that money back. Everyone who made over 3 grand this years qualifies for the Bush check. 600$ per adult and add 300$ for each child. These checks do not come until mid May, but you will not receive one UNLESS you file your taxes before April 15th. |
