I owed money this year but received that note saying how much money I will be getting for the stimulus package. My mom told me (who did my taxes) that she had my direct deposit info listed but it's been a week that my package was due and it hasn't shown up. Since I owed money, will I be receiving mine in a paper check? Should I call the IRS or something to check on it?

I paid in full the amount of money I owed months ago. She said she wrote down the deposit info but I was supposed to get mine last week and it hasn't gotten there yet. I've been getting paranoid because I've heard of peoples' getting deposited into the wrong account. Gahhh!! I guess I'll wait some more. I have a feeling I'm getting a paper check.. |

If you owe. They WILL deduct. That is what their website says. If they don't get ya now, they'll get ya later.

I filed my taxes via direct deposit, did not owe the IRS, and yet I still received a PAPER CHECK last week. Last two of SS is (02). Go figure.

2 factors. #1 if you have given direct deposit info and used it before now,it should show up there soon, if not you will get it snail mail.
#2 the last 2 digits in your social security #. the higher the number the longer the wait. |

Your check will be mailed. You can go to IRS.GOV to find out when it will be mailed to you. |

They IRS will keep the money to pay what you owe...Unless you paid what you owed when you filed |

One of the questions on the IRS site addresses this. Here's what it says:
Q. If I'm not expecting a refund, should I still fill out the direct deposit line on my return so I can get my stimulus payment directly deposited?
A. Yes. Even if you aren't due a refund on your tax return, filling out the bank routing information will allow for your stimulus payment to be directly deposited.
So, if your mom did list your direct deposit info, you'll most likely get your stimulus rebate directly deposited. |

Lots of folks who paid their balance due seem to be getting paper checks for the stimulus payment. Expect yours to come that way. |

Yes, Direct deposit was only available to people who's refund was directly deposited. If you are qualified for the stimulus it should come in the mail. |

You should recieve your check the same way you received your taxes. Dont worry, lots of people have not recieved theirs yet. |
