If I take a job in the UK that is 60k per year, how much will I actually take home each month?
Am just about to move back to the UK from Dubai which is tax-free and am wondering how much money I will actually earn

There is a good site called www.listentotaxman , which will show you what deductions to expect.

Godbob
income per year = 60k
Less allowance (everyone gets it) = (estimate) 5225
Gives taxable income of 54775
Lower band 2310 @ 10% £231
Basic rate 34370 @ 22% £7,561.40
Higher rate 18095 @ 40% £7,238
Total paid in tax = £15030.40

So you get £44969.60 a year after tax = apporx £3750 a month

You would end up after tax and NI with about £40k per year, so around £3,400 per month

EDIT: Not a bad guess, but try thi link below, it says £3417:

It's going to make you cry with disappointment, that's for sure, after living and working in a tax-free country.
