If UK was handed over to the EU completely ..........?
would the vast ammountof taxes be brought into line with EU policy.

Why would the UK be handed over to anyone?

The Frog and Sausage
The EU is controlled by its member states. Therefore, all major decisions that are made have had british approval in some form along the way.

As for tax, it seems member states maintain their own tax responsibilities (France and German have different rates of VAT for example). If the UK adopted the Euro, then the interest rate(s) set by the ECB (European Central Bank) would be used in the UK

I imagine it would have to endear to the policies to an extent, but countries still have their own say! France, Germany, whatever else are all the same!

What sort of an "if" is that.

No country in Europe has been handed over to the EU completely, so this is just dumb speculation.
