Please do me and a lot of people on here a favor. Can you go to the irs website and to the "tracker" on there and let us know what it says. Does it say it will be mailed on May 16th? Does the phone number hotline 866-234-2942 say that too? I was just wondering if that's the case. Are all the early ss numbers saying May 16th but they are mailing some early? My ss ends in 07. I'm in Jersey. Last name starts with a "V" don't know if for any bizarre reason they are going by SS number then alphabetically. Let me know people ;-) Also, did you get a second notice before you got your paper check?
I just read on here that some people got their second notice with their check via snail mail on the same day or they got their check and then the notice. Let me know your story!

I am 01, I got the letter yesterday..It says I should recieve my check by the 16th. I'm hoping it comes today lol..On the website it says mailed on the 16th, but I dont think thats right since the letter says I will get it by the 16th.The hotline tells me the same thing, will be mailed on the 16th. Someone posted yesterday about getting their letter on saturday and their check right after on monday/yesterday.Hope this helps..My last name starts with a B.. |

I haven't gotten my check yet. My last two numbers are 03 and we got the second notice yesterday. I just checked my mail and nothing...the website is still saying "on May 16" but like with everyone else who got the letter, it says I will receive my payment BY the 16. I don't understand. Some people actually need this money and we're getting the run around I think. I am grateful for it but for heaven's sakes, pick a date and stick with it. And how can you talk to someone from the IRS? Every time I call, I get some recording about how they are busy and can't answer my call and the one time that I did get someone, they weren't very nice and never asked but for the two numbers and then automatically say "It will be the 16". I wish they would at least ask for the whole number and pull it up in their system or something. Gah! Anyway, good luck to you. Hope we hear some good news soon. |

My wife and I also received a "Second Notice", stating that our "Economic Stimulus Payment" would be received by May 16th. Mine ends in 08, and we just got the notice on Monday. So, hopefully it will be here by Wednesday or Thursday. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED! AND PRAY!!!

I spoke with somone fromthe irs and was told that my check was processed and mailed on thursday even though my info says it would be mailed around the 16th. I also got a letter yesturday. Hopefully that means i will get my check today since people are getting their letters then checks the following day.
Unfortunatly I am one of the ones that got laid off due to the mortgage business so i need this for the kids. If i get mine today i will let you know. My last 2 numbers are 05. |

You are right, since your SS# ends with 07 it looks like it should be mailed around May 16, and it says to give it 3 to 5 days to get there.
They also include a warning on the bottom of the page:
"A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15."

Yes- we got the 2nd notice and it says we will recieve it by the 16th. Also checked the website and called and both said it will be sent on the 16th. Very frustrating- am hoping it will come tomorrow:) DH is 09. I know they started the mailings on the 9th. |
