Anshu L | If an employee's salary is above Rs. 6500, can he opt for not getting PF deduction every month? |
|
|

Anish

No chance ......... this is mandatory and is the liability of the employer to deduct PF and deposit it with Govt. account/ PF trust. |
|

Ram D
|
No he is required to deduct PF. As it is in his interest and his family interest as the family pension amount is deducted from employer's contribution but still it is in the interest of indididuals' nterest |

Dude its mandatory. Its what the govenment klees for your old age. Any way its your money only. just take it as your saving every month. |

 |
first of all, the limit of 6500 has been raised to 10000
Secondly, it is optional for the employee earning above the limit not to deduct PF |
|

No he can not.
But if his basic ( or the salary on which PF is calculated ) is Rs. 6500.00 or more, he can limit the contribution to Pension Fund as Rs. 541.00 and the rest can be contributed to PF so that he get more interest
Eg: If Mr. X's Basic salary is Rs. 10,000.00
HIs contribution towards PF will be Rs. 1,200.00 ( 10,000.00*12%)
Company's contribution to PF is normally 3.67% of Basic and 8.33% to Pension Fund
So in normal case co's contribution will Rs. 367.00 to PF and Rs. 833.00 to Pension Fund. But this 833.00 can be limited to Rs. 541.00 and the balance Rs. 292.00 can be contributed to PF along with the statutory contribution Rs. 367.00
This is done so because there is no interest for the contribution to Pension Fund |
