No, this is a capital item and you can only claim capital allowances - normally 25%.
People who are saying you can depreciate are only half right - depreciation is not allowable for tax purposes, so you would have to add it back on your slef assessment and claim capital allowances as I have said. |

No, you'd have to deprecitate the expense over several years. |

Actually, there is a weigh you can do this. Form as S Corp and use Section 179 on that bad boy. Just make sure that writing it off entirely doesn't bring your income to a negative number, otherwise it all won't be allowed in the current year and you'll have a Section 179 carryover. Not to mention, don't sell the vans the next year or you have to pay tax on the depreciation recapture |

No. You'll have to pay it over a period of time (a few years). |

you can only depreciate the value of company vehciles by a given percenetage each year, from memory 25% of new value |

NO the tax office will only only allow you to depriceate at a certain level each year until it has reached zero it varies from van to van and occupation you are employed in |

Not often fengirl 2 is wrong, but............
First year allowances are available at up to 100% in enterprise zones and 50% elsewhere. So you're halfway there! |

You can't write off the whole purchase price. You can only write off the amount lost between the purchase price and sale price.
The previous answers deal with a van you keep. I am assuming you sell it after a year to buy the replacement. |
