It's not the waste, it's they type of waste that's the problem. Are you prepared to have your emissions measured to check the amount of greenhouse gasses you're emitting?? This may have nothing to do with size. |

Surely , everyone knows, that the government is trying to screw every one with taxes simply by using the green band wagon and health of nation, to get through without any protest from the public. You tell me why people protested for poll tax, ten years ago, for less money ,but now fuel is going up, rate is going up , price of goods is going up and wages stay the same, but no one protesting ! |

yes they should!!
They weigh more so have a higher effect on engines making them burn quicker!! meaning it leads to higher full consumption - more greenhouse gases!! Same goes for all forms of transportation!!!
They eat more, so probably throw away more packaging!! More packaging equals more greenhouse gases when they are produced!!
By eating more, it results in, of course, more wind (farts!!) - methane!! a greenhouse gas!!!
So yes tax all fatty foods to the hilt, fine for me!!

Yep. Big things that guzzle fuel should be taxed higher. SO technically those people who make a mint off their petrol pumps that guzzle up fuel and spit it out again should be taxed massively. Oh, and the biggest country - America, should be taxed massively (as should China for stealing all the worlds resources) and all it's fat inhabitants taxed till they get fit again. That would solve obesity. |

The new 4 x 4 tax is being set up by Ken Livingstone who although a Labour politician is not part of the Government. As for a tax on the obese, there are more than enough taxes in the UK already (no - I am not obese) without adding to these.
It would be better if the range of taxation was decreased, and this could be done if there was a politician brave enough to tackle the situation. Life would also probably become much fairer. That, unfortunately is a dream world. Dream on.
